Final Year Thesis

Integrating Hazard with Socio-Economic Factors: Multi-Hazard Risk Assessment Using Remote Sensing, GIS, and MCDA

This undergraduate thesis examined multi-hazard risk of Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal by integrating flood, landslide, and forest-fire hazards with socio-economic vulnerability using geospatial techniques. Satellite imagery, digital elevation models, and GIS-based spatial analysis were used to generate hazard layers. Socio-economic indicators such as population distribution, land use, and infrastructure were incorporated to assess vulnerability

I supported geospatial analysis for climate resilience planning in the Gandaki River Basin. My role focused on landslide and flood hazard assessment and vulnerability mapping. I compiled and analyzed environmental, physical, and socio-economic datasets at the ward level to develop integrated hazard and vulnerability maps using GIS and remote sensing techniques. I also prepared thematic maps for proposed intervention sites and assisted in identifying suitable mitigation and adaptation measures.
