Story Maps
ArcGIS StoryMaps is a digital storytelling platform that combines maps, images, and narrative to present place-based experiences in an interactive and visually engaging way. It allows complex journeys and spatial stories to be communicated clearly, making it ideal for documenting field experiences and personal expeditions.
This StoryMap documents a 7-day journey from Kathmandu University to North Annapurna Base Camp. The story captures the trek through maps, photographs, and short reflections, highlighting terrain, scale, and human experience. While the journey was personal rather than academic, a geomatics perspective helps interpret the landscape. The StoryMap is both a travel narrative and a spatial record of a high Himalayan experience.

Mapping Using Google Earth Engine (GEE)
Google Earth Engine (GEE) is a cloud-based geospatial analysis platform designed for processing and analyzing large volumes of satellite imagery and spatial data. It provides access to extensive Earth observation datasets and powerful tools for visualization, classification, and time-series analysis, enabling efficient monitoring of environmental and land-use changes.
Google Earth Engine (GEE) was used to process and analyze multi-temporal satellite imagery for land use and land cover (LULC) mapping for the years 2019 and 2023 of Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur district) of Nepal. This platform enables efficient cloud-based data access, image preprocessing, classification, and area calculation, making large-scale spatial analysis faster and more consistent.
